Traditional Vows
Traditional marriage vows promise to love, honor, and cherish until death do us part. Are you searching for those right words to say on your wedding day? In love and marriage, the declaration to honor and cherish speaks of authority. It is a declaration of love. Writing your own marriage vows have become a common practice today.
Sample wedding vows can be found in poems, in songs, and all across the Internet.
Have you already made the commitment in marriage? Perhaps you are getting ready to renew those marriage vows? In any of these situations, marriage vows are to be taken seriously. A person who values the marriage vow is making a dynamic promise.
Traditional wedding vows are well known and the majority of people have spoken these all familiar marriage vows.
I, give you this ring to be my lawfully wedded spouse, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for as long as we both shall live.
Sound familiar? Simple and profound yet especially true. Love makes us feel good. We expect great things out of love and while in love.
Starting at the top of the list, marriage vows compliment the promise of love.
A Promise of Love
Making a promise is also making a commitment.
With all the best intentions, falling in love and taking it seriously enough to get married does not guarantee success.
A person needs to go into marriage with their eyes wide open. With all the dreams of a better future, sometimes marriage seems to be the ultimate victor in winning your true Love's heart.
Lyrics are created around love. Songs are sung about love and poems are written about love.
Marriage vows written out of love inspire one another. Complimenting their love they are promising forever in each other's eyes.
What Love Really Means
Writing a Marriage Vow
Renewing marriage vows are done to reinstate and declare the love between two people.
There are multiple reasons couples renew their wedding vows. For whatever reason, couples want to declare or reinstate the love they have shared over time.
A marriage vow can consist of a poem, a lyric, personal thoughts, or heartfelt compliments.
Finding the right words to say may be difficult for some. Unable to express into words the overflowing of love they feel in their heart, couples turn to outside help. Writing a marriage vow takes some thought and sometimes the pressure to make it sound perfect can be overwhelming.
To write a poem from the heart takes a little imagination, a little inspiration, and maybe some encouragement.
Think of all the love songs that are inspired and shared between people in love. Many couples pick out "their song" and claim it as their own. The one song that means something and makes their union special. If you don't have a song, I recommend finding one. When you need a little inspiration in writing the words for the one you love, having your song can create more meaning to those unscripted vows.

Sample Wedding Vows
To get ideas and to get started, here are a sampling of wedding vows for the couple about to get married, or renew their wedding vows.
I, take you for my beautiful spouse, to love and cherish, always and forever. You have made a real difference in my life, you have given me hope when I needed it most. You have loved me and in return I promise to love you -- during all our days together, forever and ever, amen.
I am honored to accept this ring in marriage. When I met you, I never dreamt I would be standing here today with a heart so full of love. You made my life greater than I ever expected. You turned my wishes into dreams, you believed in me with an unconditional love, and something I never encountered before, for you have enriched my life. I am blessed to have you in my life and I will cherish -- and love you --- forever.
I, take you, in marriage. I promise to love you, and treasure you in all of our days together. You are more beautiful today than the day I met you. Your love has shined a vibrant light into my life. Having you as my husband/wife is the wish I always wanted. You have made me happier than I could ever have asked. I take this ring as a symbol of our love together -- for you have made me the richest man/woman on this planet.
Like the sands of time, our love is grains that sift through the ages. Entangled like a vine, we are wrapped around our love. With sweet tender kisses our lives have been touched by pure love. I am honored to be your wife/husband.
These are inspirations written and expressed for any couple. Share them, add to them, use them for your wedding day. May God bless you and keep you, as you share your marriage vows with one another.
Happy Wedding Day!

Vows are extremely important in marriage. You did a wonderful job explaining the different kinds of vows and scripture to support, which is what I really enjoyed. Vows remind you of the commitment you made.
Thanks for sharing.

You have done a great job explaining and comparing the wedding vows. I have performed many weddings. Even though the vows had the same concept, many of them were different to fit the personalities and wishes of the couple. Thanks for sharing this information with us.
